  • How to tell LiveLinkII to convert PLX SM4 analog data from my X3 to a correct value?

    Hi All;

    Because the datalogged value is way bigger than what i see in the PLX SM display

    I hope you folks can help me. I am attempting to develop a tune in Advantage III for my Prochargere'd 02 SVT Focus. I used the base SVT Focus Blown tune as a starting point but the MAF curve isnt quite right, so I am using the instructions in Don LaSota's book to dial in the MAF. I am not a pro tuner, i am just a guy that got frustrated by the less than optimal tunes i was getting from the pro tuners due to the fact that the SVT Focus ECU is like no other ECU on anything else and it led the professionals to have a lot of struggles.

    The problem I am having is the lambda value coming in via the analog input is not the same value that is showing on the PLX SM-4 display. As near as i can figure, there is supposed to be a way in the X3 and in Live Link II to do a correction to make the analog data correct, but the steps i have tried on the X3 and the 'equation' section of LLII dont seem to work out.

    Do any of you have any tips?

    Tnx in advance!

    did you adjust the equation for PLX sensor. (v*2)+10 or (5v*2)=10
    User Calculated PID - When you are in livelink viewing the run you imported from device, right click and add New Quick Calculated Item. Set up the formula to convert your voltage for the Analog channel into Air Fuel or Lambda. This is because the device is really only recording the raw voltage from the analog, not the converted value. So when imported it displays the raw voltage again.

      Thankyou mach1_man! I think that is the part i was missing. I read about it but i couldnt figure out how to do it.

      (v*2)+10 or (5v*2)=10 - one of these is AF and the other is lambda?

      (5v*2)=10 - should this be (5v*2)+10?

      I will do a run and I will try this out this morning after my neighbors wake up

        . "Set up the formula to convert your voltage for the Analog channel into Air Fuel or Lambda"
        mach1_man, when i attempt to enter the formula in the text box it will not let me enter a 'v', it just keeps ignoring the input, any suggestions?
