  • Changing DOWNshift points?

Got shiftpoints working ok (5800 isn't 6400, but better than 4800), and now want to see if there's anyway to raise the mph/rpm where the tranny will downshift if the throttle is pinned down?

    TIA,

    Ryan

If you request a 5800 shift and it shifts lower, you should adjust the TV cable on the TB to match your request. Go too far and it will nuetral out.

you can make physical changes inside the VB to raise the shift points. I know this because wayne gave me two little "things" that go in there. one for stock shifts and one for 5300 and higher shifts. so I know there is some manual adjustability. you might have to do valvebody work on top of some computer tuning!

Ryan, did you change the Spark RPM normalizer table? Or is it still only go to 4800?

My truck was not going WOT. My pedal had become detached partially from the firewall.

It is shiftiing at 5800rpms right now. I'm going to throw another tune on it and see if I can get 6400ish.
